Alphabetical has designed a series of publications for University of the Arts London, promoting the organisation’s Student Enterprise and Employability (SEE) arm.

The consultancy produced three publications, which aim to publicise what SEE does, and demonstrate what it has already achieved in helping graduates find full or part-time employment.

According to the consultancy, the design aims to move away from the look of a traditional university prospectus, instead using a ‘lo-fi graphic collage style’.

Alphabetical said, ‘We came up with a lo-fi graphic collage style featuring a different fluorescent ink to illustrate each publication’.

‘The books are three different sizes and are combined into a set by a silver bulldog clip. Graphically, the covers feature a series of abstract brush strokes which cascade from beneath the clip across the three covers.’

The We Are See publication shows how the organisation helps students find work and develop business ideas and creative enterprises; while the Stories Behind The Stats report shows figures on graduate employment, jobs and careers data, and how UAL compares to other creative institutions.

The Work of Art volume ‘shares what enterprise and employability looks like in practice at UAL’, according to Alphabetical.

The three publications are to be suspended around the UAL showroom at an event to launch the works in September.
