Businesses globally are continuing to feel the effects of the current coronavirus pandemic, with many companies, large and small, being forced to temporarily close their doors.
Following this, many then go on to close down their websites too, not knowing the adverse effect this will have when the storm has passed!

Our top tip? Don’t disable your whole website! Doing this can have a significant effect on your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and visibility on search engines, within the first few days. Whilst the pandemic is devastating for some businesses, you still want people to find out about your business, product or services, and you can use the downtime to work with Silvertoad to develop your marketing, website and other internal aspects like emails. A full site takedown will make taking off again much more difficult.

Keep your users up to date with an onsite popup or banner, explaining how your business operations have changed. If your website is ecommerce, but you’re not trading at this current moment, temporarily disable the cart functionality. Alternatively, if you can still sell online, it’s the prime time to do so! We understand that unfortunately, this doesn’t work for all trades, and we can help you take the steps to let your clients know, by adjusting your Google My Business, taking future bookings only and so forth.

We’re looking to support our clients, both past, present and future, and can offer competitive rates for website updates, and our other services, to help your business through these times.
If we can be of any help to you and your business, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via [email protected] or call 0800 756 6800
